Honoring Heroes with Heart: The Good Shepards Foundation and Therapy Dog Teddy Pay Tribute at Memorial Day Ceremony

Yorba Linda, May 27, 2024 –  The Good Shepards Foundation proudly participated in The Yorba Linda Veterans Memorial Association’s traditional Memorial Day Ceremony. Our founder, Stacie Shepard, who is also a member of the Yorba Linda Women’s Club, attended alongside Teddy, one of our elite purple pack therapy dogs, to honor the sacrifices of our veterans in a heartfelt and impactful manner.

During the ceremony, Teddy’s warm and comforting presence highlighted the transformative power of the human-animal bond. He served as a beacon of hope and compassion, bringing joy and comfort to all who interacted with him, especially the veterans.

“Being at the Memorial Day Ceremony with Teddy was a powerful reminder of the healing and unconditional love that animals bring into our lives. Teddy’s gentle spirit touched the hearts of all in attendance, showcasing the profound connection between humans and animals,” said Stacie Shepard, Founder of The Good Shepards Foundation.

At The Good Shepards Foundation, we have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact therapy animals like Teddy have on people’s lives. Through our animal-assisted therapy programs, we have seen remarkable changes, whether it’s helping children with autism communicate, aiding veterans with PTSD in overcoming their anxieties, or providing comfort to the elderly.

The Good Shepards Foundation and the Yorba Linda Women’s Club continue to work together toward a common goal: responding to the needs of our community—whether strangers, friends, the youth, or those struggling with misfortune. Some acts of service are big and require a lot of planning, while others are small and simple things we can do each day, every day. Any of these ways of serving will make a difference to someone.

We understand the importance of expressing gratitude to our veterans and honoring their memories. Being part of The Yorba Linda Veterans Memorial Association’s Memorial Day Ceremony allowed us to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have fought for our freedom, filling us all with a renewed sense of hope and gratitude.

We invite you to join The Good Shepards Foundation in our mission to harness the transformative power of the human-animal bond. Together, we can honor the sacrifices of our veterans and work towards a world where compassion, unity, and gratitude prevail, making a positive impact on the lives of both humans and animals.
